Healthy Families

Program Philosophy

Community Intervention & Educational Services, LLC d/b/a The COOL Program believes that abusive behavior is a learned pattern of conduct rooted in power, control, unhealthy beliefs, poor coping skills, trauma, and ineffective communication. Our Domestic Violence Intervention Program is designed to promote accountability, behavioral change, victim safety, emotional regulation, and healthy relationship development.

Our philosophy is grounded in the belief that individuals are capable of change when provided with structured intervention, education, support, and opportunities for self-reflection. The program challenges beliefs and behaviors that contribute to violence, intimidation, manipulation, coercion, and control while promoting personal responsibility and respect for others.

The program utilizes evidence-based educational approaches, cognitive behavioral interventions, psychoeducation, conflict resolution skills, emotional awareness, and elements of the Duluth Model to help participants recognize abusive patterns and develop healthier alternatives. Participants are encouraged to examine the impact their behavior has on intimate partners, children, families, and the broader community.

Victim safety remains a primary focus of the program. Community Intervention & Educational Services works collaboratively with victim service providers and community partners to support accountability, increase awareness of domestic violence dynamics, and promote safer outcomes for individuals and families.

The COOL Program is committed to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and professional services that foster growth, responsibility, and long-term behavioral change while maintaining the dignity and accountability of all participants.

Community Intervention & Educational Services (The COOL Program) offers a voluntary Family Violence Prevention Program designed to help individuals develop healthy relationship skills, improve communication, and address the root causes of harmful behaviors within family systems.
